Beth Young is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC#15163) who graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary-Orlando with a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies in 2008. She started her first practice in Birmingham, AL, with a dear colleague and counseled there for several years until moving back to Florida in 2016. There, she loved living in a college town and working in private practice. Now, she and her family have moved back to Birmingham, and she looks forward to slowly reopening her practice. She hopes to offer in-person intensives focussed on rest and those in ministry, as well as online sessions for ongoing care. Beth has also enrolled in a Doctor of Ministry program at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, MI. The focus of the program is "seeking Sabbath in a frantic world." She hopes to bring what she learns to bear in her life and work.
Beth sees each of her clients as a unique story—one full of hope, pain, loss, boredom, grief…and innumerable plot twists. She is humbled to walk with people in the places they are afraid, confused, or stuck. She has a particular passion for working with grief, anxiety, people engaged in ministry and other helping professions, spiritual concerns, family of origin matters, and a range of women’s issues. Outside of working with individuals, she provides pre-marital counseling, and works with couples seeking to enrich their marriage.
